About Polarity Therapy

Polarity Therapy was developed in the late 1940s by Dr. Randolph Stone, a chiropractor, naturopath and osteopath, who sought to discover the fundamental laws of healing. After decades of study and practice of traditional Chinese medicine and India's Ayurvedic medicine, Dr. Stone concluded that all pain and illness stems from the disturbance or blockage of energy flow in the body.

At the Polarity Center of Syracuse, we follow Dr. Stone's teachings, offering Polarity Therapy - a combination of bodywork, nutrition, exercise and self awareness - to balance the flow of energy in your body and restore you to health and wellness.

About Elemental Ayurveda

Elemental Ayurveda is the Indian medical model that the Polarity Center of Syracuse follows.  Yoga is the "practice of life".  Ayurveda is the "science of life" and it's methods are around 5,000 years old.  Ayurveda merges the elemental priciples of Polarity to create the constitutional Doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.  Vata is a blend of Ether and Air.  Pitta is a blend of Fire and Water.  Kapha is a blend of Water and Earth.

At Elemental Ayurveda (located at Stone Totem Yoga Studio) you can receive a consultation to determine your constitutional Dosha and the tools you need to achieve balance.  Ayurveda uses a combination of tools to help you improve the quality of your life. All imbalances start with poor digestion, so in Ayurveda we start working/teaching from the kitchen.  We will help you determine your imbalances and map out an action plan of tonification and/or elimination. We will use diet, herbal treatments, traditional Panchakarma cleansing therapies, Yoga Therapy and breath work to achieve balance of mind, body and spirit.
